Summin's Story
Hello!

Welcome to Balance Counseling Collective. I am proud of you for being here!
I'm sure you're wondering if we would be a good fit, so let me share some more about myself! I am South Asian, a chronic illness warrior, traveller, foodie, dog mom, and storyteller. My dog, Max, is often by my side and likes to say a quick hello during sessions!

I've been working in the social work field since 2016 and have had the privilege of working alongside people from all walks of life. Transitioning from the non-profit world, to working alongside the unhoused and victims of violence, to hospital social work, has given me a well rounded background of experience. In 2021, while completing my MSW with USF, I transitioned into psychotherapy and found my love for counseling. I am now privileged to support individuals with trauma, chronic illness, anxiety, depression, and so much more.
As a therapist, I truly embody a non-judgmental, empathetic approach. For a lot of people, therapy can feel scary because you're asked to be open and vulnerable. As someone who has been on the other side of therapy, I always found it important to feel safe. Together we will figure out what safety looks like for you and I will always do my best to create an environment for you learn and grow within.
Areas of Expertise
Chronic Illness
Chronic illness is something close to my heart, due to my own illnesses. Whether you have illness(es) yourself or are close to someone who does, I'm here to help you unpack the grief, explore acceptance, and navigate everything in between.
Trauma
I like to define trauma as anything that happens to a person that overwhelms their ability to cope. Trauma is an individual experience and can be challenging to navigate alone. I'm here to walk alongside you through the trenches and support your healing journey.
Anxiety, Depression, & Life Transitions
We all experience highs and lows in life and sometimes those lows leave us feeling unwell. I provide support in navigating and better understanding these symptoms. Through learning coping and regulation skills, navigating boundaries, exploring limiting beliefs, and so much more, you will begin to creative positive changes and work towards wellness.
